Drove to Gill's Bay, less than 10 mins from the famous John O'Groats. £86 got two adults, a child under two a car and a trailer from mainland UK to mainland Orkney on the Ferry run by Pentland Ferries. Quite a smooth crossing and spooky seeing all the deserted houses and WW2 gun posts. Saw loads of puffins on the way over. Lovely new boat, big areas to sit inside and out, only issue was with the food!
