Amtrak's call this route the Southwest Chief with a daily train running between Chicago and Los Angeles, through the vast expanse of the American West.

This route takes you across the mighty Mississippi through eight states and past the south rim of the Grand Canyon. If you want to visit the Grand Canyon there are bus connections at Williams Junction, AZ to the Grand Canyon Railway in Williams.
