Route notes

It was a few years ago and we actually did this route in the opposite direction but I'm sure the journey is more or less the same in reverse.
We had bicycles with us and taking them on the train was not a problem as there was a carriage specifically for bikes; you just have to remember to book them on in advance! The journey should have taken about 8hrs which is actually a little bit short for a sleeper in my opinion, ideally I think you need 10 hrs so that you have enough time for a decent sleep. The two birth cabin we had was clean and comfortable and we were provided with breakfast in the morning. If you’re planning on taking sleepers in the summer around Europe its worth booking in advance as they can fill up quickly on popular routes.
