Adding new routes
The site depends on its users, yes you! For this site to work we need you to enter information from your own travel experiences to help us develop a database which covers as many flightless routes as possible. Maybe you have travelled the world or maybe you do your daily commute to work by train, ethier way we want to hear about it. We hope that the more information we all share the more we'll encourage other people to take flightless journeys.
When you add a journey into our database you will be entered into our prize draw for a week's holiday in North Berwick, Scotland, for 10 People at The House at the Beach. Prize terms and conditions apply.
Record a Journey in our Database
- Simply select a start country and start location
- Then select an end country and end location
- Then select a mode of transport
- You can then rate your route based on 7 key criteria; culture; scenery; safety; bathroom facilities; food & drink; staff and comfort
- You can also add information on travel costs, route duration and the date of travel
- You are then given the option to add as little or as much additional information as you like on your route which may be of interest to other users
- Finally you have an opportunity to upload photos of the route
The journeys you record will be added to our database allowing other users to find them quickly and easily via our "Plan Your Journey" search engine.
We hope that by providing more and more information on flightless travel we'll be able to highlight the wonders of more traditional travel routes and help people move away from airline travel.
If the route has already been added then you can vote on it scoring culture, sights, food and drink or anything else that makes a journey great or not so great!
